Ryan is a professional writer based in New York City. Currently a graduate student at Columbia University, Ryan is a tried and true navigator of the Manhattan subway system, having attended NYU for his undergraduate studies. Alongside cherished bohemian memories in Washington Square Park, Ryan received NYU’s Founder’s Award for Academic Excellence. 

After graduation, Ryan embarked on a cross-country road trip that took him through thirty-five states, eventually landing him in Los Angeles. There, he worked at Creative Arts Agency in unscripted television, managing the desks of two major-league agents and working closely with clients as they brought award-winning documentaries and unscripted television series to life. Having satisfied his West Coast wanderlust, Ryan shifted his focus back to writing and returned East to pursue a literary career full-time.

Ensconced in the mountains of West Virginia, Ryan spent two years developing a novel and publishing his work. He has been featured in several literary magazines for his fiction and non-fiction pieces, and was nominated for a 2024 Pushcart Prize for a long-form essay published in Flat Ink Magazine. In addition to his literary pursuits, Ryan hosted a daily radio program on 88.1 WTSQ, and served as a social worker, bringing his skills to the community.

Ryan is an avid reader, writer, and traveler. Not a year goes by where he doesn't find an excuse for a road trip, and Ryan has now proudly visited twenty countries and forty-five states (he is missing Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Hawai'i, and Georgia). Ryan is currently spending whatever free time he can find learning how to play violin and speak German, neither of which he is ready to show off.
