Grey Eyed Owl Academy

Holistic, skills-based small group education for the ambitious leaders of tomorrow.

Secondary School as a Competitive Advantage:

The Benefits of Group Instruction

True achievement comes from mastering the content and analytical mindset which these exams reward. The tradition of supplementary education (sometimes called cram school, test prep or tuition centers) designed to help students pass rigorous standardized exams or excel within their regular schoolwork, is common among high performers globally. Group learning partnered with personalized instruction has a myriad of benefits.

Learning Density

Group settings create opportunities for students to increase the depth of their mastery by learning from their peers. Whether they gain from seeing alternative methods of tackling a problem or hearing answers they wouldn’t have considered, group learning can accelerate content mastery.

Productive Struggle

True mastery requires effort, concentration, and struggle. By learning in small groups, students are able to normalize struggle by seeing challenges their peers face, and by facing challenges as a cohort. This establishes the merits of hard-work among the seminar students.

High Engagement

The rigorous pace of the class keeps all students moving forward, offering a strong sense of structure as well as peer and personal accountability. Group settings also offer additional methods for students to learn, by engaging in different activities and learning tasks.

Meet the Curriculum Developers

At GEO, we view Test Prep as a genuine and meaningful benchmark for where students are with their quantitative and qualitative foundations. These math and verbal skills are essential for success in one's academic, professional, and personal career. While most companies just focus on how to take the test (ie: teaching strategies like process of elimination), our curriculum focuses on content mastery that will bolster student performance in their classes for years to come.

Built for Success Beyond the Test

Crafted by Experts

The Grey Eyed Owl SAT Class was built by educators with 30 years of experience, who have dedicated thousands of hours to teaching and refining the material on standardized tests. These instructors, who themselves scored in the top 1% on the SAT and its ‘big siblings,’ the GMAT and GRE, have seen where other programs fall short — and designed GEO’s course to rise above.
