Born and raised in Brazil and Florida, Marina is a trilingual actress, singer-songwriter, educator, and lifelong straight-A student. Professionally, Marina has performed all over the world, with her most recent work being in the Helen Hayes Award-nominated production of “Nine” at The Kennedy Center, directed and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler (“Hamilton”). Marina appeared on Broadway in “How to Dance in Ohio”, toured the U.S. nationally in “On Your Feet! The Story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan”, and performed with Phish at Madison Square Garden on New Year’s Eve. She also lent her voice to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s/Sony Pictures Animation's “VIVO”.

In addition to her acting career, Marina writes and performs original music with her indie-folk band, The Heartstrings Project. The band’s music has been featured at iconic New York venues like Rockwood Music Hall, Joe’s Pub, and Lincoln Center, and was up for consideration at the 64th Grammy Awards for Best Americana Album of the Year and Best American Roots Song. They’ve performed at the 50th Anniversary of Tea for the Tillerman with artists like Dave Matthews Band and Haim, and have been recognized as Deepak Chopra’s Monthly Featured Artist on Spotify.

As a passionate teaching artist, Marina works with organizations such as TheatreWorks USA, where she was commissioned to compose original music for a panel discussion with Dr. Ellen Ochoa, the first Latina astronaut in space. She also partners with CoLab Theater Group, a non-profit dedicated to providing individuals with developmental disabilities a creative outlet through theater arts.

Marina continues to perform while dabbling in photography, hat-making, the culinary arts, and transcendental meditation. She is currently pursuing her certifications as both a birth and death doula. In her spare time, she enjoys writing poems on old typewriters, hosting dinner parties for friends, and taking long walks with her dog, River.
