Joyce hails from Upstate New York, carrying with her an early love of learning and an abiding loyalty to Wegmans. In high school, her curiosity branched into unexpected places—biochemistry, race relations research, and award-winning poetry—ultimately leading her to Harvard, where she is currently pursuing degrees in Economics and Computer Science.
Her love for economics was strong enough to warrant a pause in her studies: she spent a gap year in Washington, D.C., working on the macroeconomics and finance team at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. She’s now back on campus, where she’s actively involved in a variety of student organizations and serves as the CEO of an intercollegiate investment fund called Global Platinum Securities.
Joyce has been tutoring since high school and brings particular passion—and a healthy dose of empathy—to teaching finance and economics. Having worked in private equity, venture capital, and investment banking and served as a course assistant for Harvard’s corporate finance class, she knows that the learning curve can be steep, and she’s always excited to help others climb it.
When she’s not analyzing markets or solving problem sets, Joyce can be found cafe-hopping, rewatching Studio Ghibli films, or taking the long way along the Charles River—proof that detours, in life and learning, often lead to the best views.
