"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art.... It has no survival value;
rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.”

-C.S. Lewis

Josh has always believed that curiosity is one of life’s greatest privileges—and he’s grateful to the teachers, mentors, and family members who nurtured that belief early on. At the University of Virginia, he resisted the pull of the Commerce School to pursue a liberal arts degree, drawn equally to mathematics and philosophy. His professors encouraged him to embrace rigor and precision, and he’s been chasing both ever since.

After graduating, Josh spent seven years at Goldman Sachs, where he developed a deep understanding of global financial markets and learned from some of the best investors and client relationship managers in the business. But the part of the job that stuck with him most came outside the office—at a Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks event, which sparked a growing desire to serve others full-time.

That led him to East Los Angeles and Garden Grove, California, where he spent three years as a high school math teacher. He now runs a small business with his wife, where, fittingly, math still plays a major role in his daily life.

Josh and his wife welcomed their daughter in the summer of 2025, and parenthood has been his most joyful (and humbling) learning experience yet. When he’s not working or parenting, you’ll likely find him outside—he’s an Eagle Scout and a fan of all things active, from kettlebells to college sports to squash, assuming he can find an open court.
