Fergus—known to everyone as Gus—grew up in Central Jersey, bouncing between acrobatics, theatre, music, and sports with irrepressible energy. By high school, musical theatre had taken center stage: ballet replaced soccer, and singing lessons supplanted wrestling practice. But when it came time for college, Gus surprised even himself by choosing Princeton over a conservatory—a leap that reflected his curiosity as much as his courage.
At Princeton, Gus fell in love with history and became something of a campus archivist, known as much for his research projects as for his encyclopedic knowledge of study nooks and climbable trees. He also found a creative home in his a cappella group, leading tours to Canada, Bermuda, and Rome, and even performing on Good Morning America’s Christmas broadcast during the pandemic.
After a masked-and-distanced graduation in 2021, Gus moved to D.C. to work in federal strategy consulting. Three years and fifty-three sections of the Federal Acquisition Regulation later, he traded policy memos for palm trees, moving to Los Angeles to pursue a life that balanced singing, producing, acrobatics, and teaching. When he returned to coaching flying trapeze, Gus rediscovered the joy of helping students soar—literally and figuratively. He brings that same spirit to tutoring, guiding students to recognize their strengths, build confidence, and take flight on their own.
