Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, and attending a college preparatory school from pre-K through 12th grade, Archer developed a deep understanding of balancing rigorous academics with a packed extracurricular schedule. Constantly seeking new challenges, she immersed herself in various clubs and activities. She served as president of a student-run philanthropic foundation; played upright bass in her school orchestra, the Contemporary Youth Orchestra, and the Cleveland Women’s Orchestra; and even tried her hand at International Extemporaneous Speaking—though she’ll admit it wasn’t her forte. She also pursued dance, including pointe, and was deeply involved in her school’s songwriting and vocal programs.
As her passion for music grew, Archer found a way to integrate her academic and artistic pursuits at Yale, where she graduated magna cum laude with a double major in Music and Political Science, along with an Advanced Language Certificate in Spanish. During her time in New Haven, Archer performed with the Yale Symphony Orchestra and made history as the first woman to serve as Music Director of her a cappella group, Doox of Yale. It was at Yale that Archer began volunteering as a tutor at local schools.
During a gap year taken to avoid Zoom classes during the pandemic, Archer honed her tutoring skills, working with students of all ages—from elementary schoolers to grad students. One of her proudest moments was helping a college advising student gain admission to MIT after working with him on his essays. This experience solidified Archer’s lifelong commitment to academic mentorship.
Now based in Los Angeles, Archer is dedicated to her career as a singer-songwriter. She draws on her experience juggling academics, music, and literature as she splits her time between tutoring her exceptional GEO students, working at a bookstore, and spending session days recording, writing, and collaborating.
